Customs

My WIPs and FrakenJoes can be seen here a the HissTank.com forums. Below you’ll find finished custom figures created in a 1:18 scale using 25th Anniversary/Modern Era/RoC GI Joe figures and parts.

Snake-Eyes 1991 Revisted

Do you remember the GI Joe team members released in 1991?  They were garishly clad with neon colored accessories and accents. I took a look back and said to myself “Snake-Eyes could have looked so cool if he was styled just slightly different.”  I decided to put that to the test and I found I was right.

Danger Girl

One of my favorite comics of the past 10 years.  Girls.  Guns.  Indians Jones.  James Bond.  GI Joe.  A Sean Connery look-a-like as team leader.  All of these elements made for one awesome ride.  The only thing left was to actually merge this universe with the Joeverse.

Modern takes on Old Favorites

When the rights parts inspire you you end up with what you see below – modern takes inspired by old classics.  You may notice the Recondo is somewhat reminiscent of his class Tiger Force counterpart, minus the stripes that is.  Roadblock should jump right out at you modeled after his 1986 urban look on a Resolute base.  Shipwreck, well there is no need for him to look like a gay sailor.  Devil’s Due had a good look for him and I played it out into a whole new swabby.  As for Covergirl, did you know she is Shipwreck’s main squeeze?  She was done a year before all of these, but was much more modern in style than she ever looked on screen or in ink.

1982 – 1983

This spring I had a desire.  A desire for Snake-Eyes figures model after his 1982 Hasbro release and 1983 Sunbow MASS Device appearance.

Red Shadows

Remember the Red Shadows?  No.  Where did you grow up?  Oh, yeah, the United States.  Well over in the UK they had Action Force and Action Force had the Red Shadows!

What if…Snake-Eyes

I asked and you shall receive.  Some may consider it sacrilege to repaint a perfectly good City Strike Snake-Eyes, especially when they are still difficult to locate in store, but this figure begged to be repainted in homage of the blue and purple look he had in the 1980s Sunbow animated series.  I think he turned out very well, maybe one of my best.

Skull Buster

A lesson in modern madness.
